We Don't War with People

Satan wants you to war with people, to destroy relationships, cause divisions and prohibit unity within the body of Christ. But we do not fight against flesh and blood! (Eph.6:12). Romans 12:21 says do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good. 2 Timothy 2:24 says a servant of the Lord must not quarrel but be gentle to all, able to teach, patient, in humility correcting those who are in opposition, if God perhaps will grant them repentance, so that they may know the truth (2 Timothy 2:24). And Jesus said to love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you. This sounds really hard, but it has more to do with the condition of your heart than it does about the other person. We have to trust God enough to know He will deal righteously with enemies and can even turn enemies to children of God when they are met with the perfect love of God working through one of us. When we hang onto what people have done to us, we make ourselves victims or prisoners to their actions (which is what satan wants). When we come to the understanding that the blood Jesus shed on the cross was enough for us, and that God's heart is for none to perish, and for all to come to repentance and salvation (2 Timothy 3:9), and that God's grace is sufficient because it empowers us to follow the will of God, then we can be about the work of the Kingdom and bring much glory to the Father!
